These are scary times. One thing keeping us sane while we’re “social distancing” is finding new trails to explore on blue-sky days. Today’s winner was the Reservoir Woods Trail, a.k.a. Trout Creek Trail on Google Maps, in Roseville. The 2.8 mile loop from Larpenteur Avenue to Victoria Street links Tamarack Park and Reservoir Woods Park. It’s a little hilly, with elevation gains of 285 feet, but blessedly paved — so no muddy March sneakers!
Visitors often spot deer here, but this afternoon it was just us, our thoughts, and the naked pines. Norway Pines, to be exact, which tower as tall as 80 feet and can live to be 350 years old.
Note to our doggo-loving friends: The Reservoir Woods Trail, just north of Larpenteur and east of Kent, is also home to the Woodview Off-Leash Dog Park. Five undulating acres of open woodland for your fur-kid to run wild and free? Mr. Biscuit could get used to this whole #WFH thing.
Other than your own home (or if you’re lucky enough, cabin in the woods), where do you go to be alone? Suggestions for social-distancing spots are always welcome on our Instagram or Facebook, so long as we don’t all go at the same time! 🤙
