Good news! The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chanhassen began its Phase III reopening on July 31. This resulted in increased access to the grounds, including all gardens, walking paths, and the Oswald Visitor Center. The Three-Mile Drive has opened to bicycles and vehicles, and guests are now permitted to picnic onsite (BYO blanket or table cloth). The Maze Garden, Berens Cabin, Bee Center, YouBetcha Willow Sculpture, and Children’s Play Yard remain closed.
Reservations are required to visit; book online because no tickets will be sold at the gatehouse. The Arboretum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays (till 8 pm). It’s politely asking visitors to wear masks outdoors but this is not a requirement; facial coverings are only required inside the Arboretum buildings.
