Fútbol Is Life at Allianz Field

Come on you Loons!

The youngest member of Team Minnevangelist attended his first Loons game recently (Minnesota United FC vs. Seattle Sounders FC) at Allianz Field in St. Paul. It was brrrrrr🥶-cold, but we kept our 9.5-week-old goalie, Julian Nikko, all bundled up. Even though the boys in black and blue lost 2-1, the game was still a fun, surprisingly baby-friendly experience.

Kids under 2 attend Minnesota United games for free; Ashlea Halpern just wore him under her coat and packed a clear diaper bag, per stadium policy. We stood in the top row of the general admission section, which gave us a bird’s eye view of the field and plenty of room to move around (babies like that rhythmic bouncing). It was also the least noisy part of the crazed fan section.

Oh, and we can totally get behind some of the new stadium food. Our favorites: the Pow Pow Cheese Curds and Hot Honey Chicken Tenders from the Fry Club near section 24. The former is dusted with Cry Baby Craig’s spicy cheese powder; the latter is tossed in CBC’s hot honey.

As Dani Rojas would say, “Fútbol is life!” 🔥⚽️🔥
